Princess back on TV, has ‘Prince’s’ full support

I am overjoyed that my beloved “sister,” Princess Punzalan-Field, is back in town. Cess, Liezl Martinez, Pops Fernandez and I have ties that need not be rekindled because no matter how long it’s been since we last saw each other, the four of us are permanent fixtures in each other’s hearts.
One of the things I am looking forward to this 2010 is our long overdue reunion. A few years ago, the four of us wanted to have a TV show together. Our idea was for Pops to do the entertainment segment, Cess to have an “advice” portion, Liezl to handle the home/motherhood stuff and I, to take care of the chika part.
We chided Pipay that she should waive her talent fee for the show or else the producer will lose too much money. Too bad, that dream remains unfulfilled. But Cess is back on TV after her hiatus in the United States where she is now based with her husband Jay.
She portrays the kontrabida Alwana in GMA 7’s spellbinding telefantasya, “The Last Prince,” which premieres tonight after “Darna” on the Telebabad block. It is top-billed by Aljur Abrenica as Prinsipe Almiro and Kris Bernal as Lara. It’s a fairy tale story of a kingdom in the clouds—Paladino—where magic is real, supernatural creatures exist and the enthralling saga of love, friendship and sacrifice abound.
Is Cess back for good?
“There is always that possibility that my husband and I could relocate here, for good,” she said. “But at this point, our priority is for me to finish my studies first. Sayang naman, kasi nangangalahati na ako. I am going into my major na, which is nursing. Only four more semesters.”
What’s Jay’s reaction to her comeback? “I have his full support,” she replied. “He’s happy for me because he knows how much I’ve missed acting.”
What’s the most important lesson she learned while she was away from the limelight? “If you are secure about your identity, and you clearly know the essential things in life, then any kind of change would not be too hard to adjust to.”
Has she seen her ex-husband Willie Revillame since she arrived? “We don’t have each other’s numbers,” she said. “But we have remained friends, who respect each other even if we now live separate lives.”
Any advice for Willie, who was still a struggling drummer when they met but is now rich, controversial and famous? “I do not know what’s really happening in his life. All I know is that he is rich, powerful and successful now. I pray that God blesses him with the grace to be a very wise steward of His blessings. May he be surrounded by people, who will love him and not what he has. May he maintain good relationships with people he met on his way up. May his ears always be open to the words of wisdom offered to him by well-meaning people. May he always be humble.”
Princess can now look back and look ahead with a big smile in her heart because she has found her happy ever after with her last Prince, Jay.
